What you can do to help!

This is a Donation Drive for the NICU at Meriter Hostipal in Madison, WI. Although Alivia was only in the NICU for 34 hours, I know that parents are there for several months at a time waiting for their child to come home. I know its extremely hard to have their child there. But it is also hard in so many other ways as well. It's hard on gas because of the many daily trips to the hospital. Also, most often one parent takes a leave of absence from work to be at the hospital with their child as much as possible. This makes funds tough, and bills can become hard to pay. And no matter what you just want your son or daughter to be happy and healthy. I am having this donation drive to help comfort the families of children in the NICU, so they can focus on their child getting better. Alivia was wrapped in a blanket that the NICU gave to us, which now her godmother has as a memory of Alivia. Not only was my daughter cared for in the NICU, but so was my family. The staff at Meriter's NICU was wonderful, and they need some help getting items for the babies in the NICU. Being in the NICU is a very stressful time whether its only for a few days or for several months or more. I'm doing this donation in memory of Alivia who passed away on July 24, 2008. I will deliver the donated items on July 23. 2009.

Please, lets come together and help to gather the needed items to donate to the NICU that my sweet Alivia was in (Meriter Hospital). We will be having collections throughout the city of Madison and other cities. I am still talking to local companties about having collections with them as well. There are two addresses that you can send your donated items to. If you would like to donate money, you are welcome to. Any funds received will go toward the purchase of items needed for the NICU.

I am working on getting in touch with some local companies and some out of state companies to help with this project. I've also contacted some local news stations to help. My ultimate goal is to raise more than enough items needed and gather enough monetary donations that could go straight to the NICU to purchase new equipment and supplies needed.

Meriter’s NICU needs:

· Preemie Onesies and Sleepers
· Newborn Onesie and Sleepers
· 0-3 Onesie and Sleepers
· Crib Sheets
· Blankets
· Mobiles

The items can be gently used or brand new

Ways you can become involved.....

1. You can mail donated items

2. You can donate money to go toward the purchase of items needed for the NICU.

3. You can place a flyer in your church, staff break room at your job, or local businesses in your area

If you gather a large donation I would be happy to pay for shipping. I will make a flyer and send it to your email to print if you would like to help in that way.

I will keep updated posts on items received. At the time of donation I will have several pictures to post on that special day. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. You can reach me at either aliviasangelgift@gmail.com or at duckygirl01@hotmai.com.

Thank you so much for your help and participation!!

Just the Begining

We decided that we wanted to something in honor of our daughter, Alivia, for her birthday. Our daughter, Alivia Agnes, died in Meriter's NICU on July 24, 2008. She was born on July 23, and spend her 34 hours of life in the NICU at Meriter. Alivia's one year birthday is coming up in a few months. . We know that Meriter's NICU is always in need of onesies, sleepers, crib sheets, blankets, etc. We thought we would hold a donation drive for the next 3 months and in the month of July donate everything we have to Meriter's NICU. Everyone in the NICU was so amazing to us when we were there we want to be able to help them and help families find comfort while their babies are there fighting to live.

The donation drive will officially start Wednesday, April 1st, 2009, and run through July 23, 2009, Alivia's 1st birthday. More information will be added through the next several days. Everything will be ready to go on Wednesday!

Let's come together and work together to make this a great success!
